Join us for a relaxed potluck picnic and community hangout at LA State Historic Park (1245 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012) from 1PM–4:30PM. Bring your blankets, sunscreen, water, and a light jacket (SoCal “cold” ranges from the 50s–70s°F 😌).

🌈 Out-of-town friends — just bring yourself and enjoy!

Day 2 — Battles, 7 to Smoke & Special Showcases
Experience an action-packed night featuring open-level battle categories, including 1v1 Whacking, 7 to Smoke, and special performance showcases. Doors open at 6PM, with prelims starting at 7PM; the event runs from 6PM–11PM.

Join us for this interactive dance performance with Whacking Los Angeles, a community organization dedicated to preserving and advancing the legacy of Punking and Whacking through dance education, events, and nurturing spaces. Watch them perform, and then hop on to the dance floor to learn some punking and whacking moves. Hosted by Dance Resource Center.

The 2nd Annual The Music Center’s On the Record: Vinyl Fair returns with a vinyl marketplace, art-making, interactive activities, dance performances, live DJs and an open dance floor on Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center.

Liminality - A Whacking Immersive Show invites audiences to delve into the pulsating world of Whacking/Waacking, a dynamic dance form originating from the 1970s gay community of Los Angeles, known for its expressive arm movements and unapologetic energy. In preparation for this groundbreaking event, the talented performers will embark on a week-long intensive, honing their skills in Whacking, improvisation, and the art of connecting through movement. As the show unfolds, the entire performance will be a testament to the dancers' journey, with every moment improvised.

Guided by prompts for introspection and a commitment to push beyond their thresholds of 'liminality,' the performers will create a unique, unscripted narrative. Witness the magic as these artists explore the boundaries between choreography and spontaneity, transcending traditional dance norms. The immersive experience will also feature captivating performances by esteemed guest artists Tori Cristi, Ijay Espinoza, G’bari Denzel and Noelle Falcis, adding an extra layer of brilliance to an evening of radical joy and connection.

Theme is Y2K/ 2000’s🎉 Join us for an amazing time .Categories are: Rookie 7 to Smoke (Whaackers with 1 YEAR OF SUSTAINED TRAINING or under only ) and 1v1 Open Level Whaacking with featured guests. We can’t wait to have the community come together! See you all then!
